The Ship’s Articles for Cyprus-flagged vessels are official documents that record the employment terms of seafarers on board. As of 1 March 2025, the Shipping Deputy Ministry (SDM) introduced a new policy requiring companies to maintain these records using a standardized template provided in the SDM's circular annex. These documents must be kept in printed form on board and are subject to inspection by relevant authorities. Each time a seafarer joins or leaves the vessel, the Ship’s Articles must be updated, signed, and stamped by both the Master and the seafarer. While electronic versions may be used internally, they do not replace the official printed documents. This policy shift aims to streamline compliance procedures and enhance record-keeping efficiency for vessels under the Cyprus flag .
