FAST & ACCURATE NOTICE TO MARINERS (NM) UPDATES
ADMIRALTY e-Nautical Publications are updatable, electronic versions of official ADMIRALTY Nautical Publications such as Sailing Directions (Pilots) and the Nautical Almanac. This means that bridge crews can download and apply electronic weekly Notices to Mariners (NMs) updates to publications in just a few seconds every week, improving efficiency and accuracy on board during passage planning tasks.
EASY ACCESS TO IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Simple search functionality gives users quick access to important planning information. The AENP Viewer snapshot function helps bridge crews to view, save and print AENP pages as well as any applicable NMs and addendums, which can be used to support passage planning.

CARRIAGE COMPLIANCE
AENPs are designed to meet SOLAS carriage requirements, contain the same official information as their paper equivalents, and have been approved by the Flag States of over 80% of ships trading internationally. AENPs can also aid inspections by clearly showing when a publication was last updated with weekly NMs.

RECOMMENDED MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Our recommended minimum requirements to run AENPs via the ADMIRALTY e-NP Reader 1.3 are as follows:
• Hardware: CPU Pentium IV or later
• Memory: 512 MB as a minimum, 1 GB recommended
• Monitor: 1280 x 1024 resolution
• Disk space: 5 GB
• USB port: v1.2 compatible or later
• Printer: Colour Printer
• Memory Stick: 1 GB+Software • Operating System: Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit versions) and Windows 8.1 64 bit
IMPORTANT NOTES:
It is recommended that your chosen computer also has up-to-date antivirus software installed.The UKHO will not be in the position to support the ADMIRALTY e-Reader 1.3 and the associated AENPs used on operating Systems where Microsoft support has been withdrawn.
Our recommended system requirements to run ADMIRALTY e-Nautical Publications via SPICA are as follows:
• Processor: 2Ghz or faster
• RAM: 4GB
• Display 1366 x 768 resolution
• Disk space: 5GB minimum
• USB port: v1.2 compatible or later
• Memory stick: 1GB+
• Software Operating System: Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit versions), Windows 8.1 64 bit and Windows 10 64 bit.
It is recommended that your computer has up-to-date antivirus software installed and the most recent Windows updates applied.

Approved by the Flag States of over 80% of ships trading internationally, AENPs provide the same level of compliance as traditional ADMIRALTY paper-based publications, for ships trading under these Flag States. Where we are aware that a Flag State Authority (FSA) has issued documentation on the acceptance of UKHO’s digital nautical publications or provided guidance on their use, we have listed it in the table below.

FSAs who accept UKHO’s digital nautical publications, but have not issued any specific requirements, may not be listedIf it is not clear whether a FSA accepts UKHO’s digital nautical publications as satisfying carriage requirements then shipping companies should contact their FSA.
