The Astronomical Almanac, 2025 Edition Purchase

Very prompt service. My international purchase shipped within a day of order and arrived one week later. This is an annual publication which I substantially rely on and has typically been difficult to source in a timely manner from other shippers. I look forward to ordering from ANS again.

Why I Continue to Purchase the Astronomical Almanac Every Year

Long before it became possible to write and run programs on a personal computer, e.g., computer programs that model the motions of bodies in our solar system, there was the annual Astronomical Almanac.

For me personally, it became possible back in 1984 to write such programs on my own IBM PC/XT desktop computer. But I had been purchasing the Astronomical Almanac annually before that.

My particular interest lately is in modeling the motions of asteroids that enter cislunar space and impact Earth. The Almanac's annual ephemeris tables of the major and minor planets provide a handy source of test data for my programs.

While I do also access the JPL Horizons website to obtain such test data, using the authoritative data and explanations in the printed pages of the annual Astronomical Almanac has been an ongoing activity that I continue to enjoy.
