CTUpack e-learning | CTU Packaging Training

American Nautical Services offers CTUpack e-learning, for those involved in the loading and unloading of Cargo Transport Units (CTUs). The role of CTUpack e-learning is to support the training of consolidators and packers and to promote best practice. Beginning with a foundation course, CTUpack will develop to address special cargoes and training for all aspects of CTU packing.

The course takes account of the recent revisions to the IMO/ILO/UNECE Code of Practice for the Packing of CTUs.

The Code is non-mandatory but will have some force under SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) and would inevitably be used in legal proceedings (civil and criminal) as a benchmark.

(2) Cargo, Cargo Units and Cargo Transport Units shall be so packed and secured within the unit as to prevent, throughout the voyage, damage or hazard to the ship and the persons on board
