The International Convention For The Control And Management Of Ship’s Ballast Water And Sediments, 2004 (BWM Convention 2004) requires from September 2017 all vessels to implement a ballast water management plan and to carry a Ballast Water Record Book. The new Ballast Water Record Book (1204Y) complies with the Ballast Water Convention and provides tables for recording of required entries as well as a hull diagram for noting the position of ballast tanks, discharges and manifolds that may be used during a ballast water operation.
