The Dutch-made Gimbal Oil Lamp is a beautiful brass sconce that mounts to a wall or boat bulkhead. The fuel font of this solid brass lamp is weighted so that in heavy seas it will swing easily when gimbal-mounted to a bulkhead. Both a brass gimbal bracket and smoke bell accompany this lamp. The manufacturer, Den Haan Rotterdam (DHR), was founded in Rotterdam, Holland, in 1922. It began as a manufacturer of navigation and interior lighting for inland and seagoing vessels. All lamps, many of them replicas of old models, are handmade to commercial ship standards.
