The BIMCO Holiday Calendar provides detailed information on holidays at various levels: National/Federal, Regional/State/Provincial, and Local. These holidays typically fall into three categories: Fixed, Movable, and Relative. Fixed holidays align with the Gregorian/ Western calendar, Movable holidays have procedural observation or adhere to other calendars like the Islamic lunar calendar, while Relative holidays are determined based on other events or calculations.

With the BIMCO Holiday Calendar, charterers and owners have a reliable guide to clarify what should be considered a laytime holiday under a charter party.
