Collection: 29 CFR: Labor

Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 29) contains rules and regulations governing labor in the United States issued by departments and agencies of the U.S. federal government. The CFR is comprised of 50 titles, each following different areas of U.S. federal government oversight ranging from labor to public health.

Chapter XII, parts 1,900 - 1,910 (1,910.1 - 1,910.999 (CFR 29 1910)) of CFR 29 are administered by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration and the Department of Labor. Topics covered include state plans for the development and enforcement of state standards, inspections, citations and proposed penalties, recording and reporting occupational injuries and illnesses, rules and practices for variances, limitations, variations, tolerances and exemptions under the Williams-Steiger Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1970, consultation agreements and occupational safety and health standards.

Chapter XII, part 1,910 (1,910.1000 - end (CFR 29 1910)) of CFR 29 is administered by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration and the Department of Labor and includes a continuation of occupational health and safety standards from part 1,910 (1,910.1 - 1,910.999 (CFR 29 1910)).

Chapter XII, parts 1,911 - 1925 of CFR 29 are administered by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration and the Department of Labor. Topics covered include rules of procedure for promulgating, modifying or revoking occupational safety or health standards, advisory committees on standards, national advisory committee on occupational safety and health, rules of agency practice and procedure concerning OSHA access to employee medical records, occupational safety and health standards for shipyard employment, marine terminals, safety and health regulations for longshoring, gear certification, procedure for variations from safety and health regulations under The Longshoremen's and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, rules of practice in enforcement proceedings under section 41 of the Longshoremen's and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, investigational hearings under section 41 of the Longshoremen's and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, safety standards applicable to workshops and rehabilitation facilities assisted by grants and safety and health standards for federal service contracts.
