The second edition of the QMED manual has been updated to reflect current information and procedures, and includes for the various rating requirements for documents. The Cornell QMED Manual describes safety practices--lifeboat operation, survival procedures, rescue and evacuation details, firefighting, and first aid--that should be understood by all mariners. All questions are of a type and standard that are likely to be encountered in real examinations utilizing a full set of stability data supplied in the pocket book.

Content

Section 1 – Introduction
Section 2 – Basic Principles
Section 3 – Form Coefficients
Section 4 – Tonnes Per Centimetre Immersion
Section 5 – Load Lines
Section 6 – Centre of Gravity (G) and Centre of Buoyancy (B)
Section 7 – Transverse Statical Stability
Section 8 – Conditions of Stability
Section 9 – Intial Transverse Metacentre
Section 10 – Free Surface Effect
Section 11 – Curves of Statical Stability (Gz Curves)
Section 12 – List
Section 13 – Curves of Statical Stability for Varying Conditions of Stability
Section 14 – Suspended Weights
Section 15 – Introduction to Trim
Section 16 – Trim Using Hydrostatic Data
Section 17 – Inclining Experiment
Section 18 – Assesing Compliance of a Ships Loaded Condition With Imo Criteria
Section 19 – Practical Ship Loading Problems

Details

Title: Ship Stability OOW
Number of Volumes: 1
Edition: First
Number of Pages: 408
Product Code: WS1037K
ISBN: ISBN 13: 978-1-905331-64-2 (9781905331642), ISBN 10: 1-905331-64-9 (1905331649)
Published Date: August 2009
Binding Format: Paperback
Book Height: 240 mm
Book Width: 190 mm
Book Spine: 20 mm
Weight: 1.20 kg
Author: Martin Rhodes

Stability and Trim for the Ship’s Officer has been completely updated after twenty-two years. Aboard today’s vessels, technology and computers abound as ship’s gear. The once long and tedious calculations for stability, trim, and hull strength are now done in minutes. But no matter how much change the industry has undergone, the laws of physics are constant. The only way to verify that the computer is coming up with accurate figures is to read the ship’s drafts. Two new chapters have been included, “Prerequisites for Stability, Trim, and Hull Strength Calculations,” and “U.S. Coast Guard Questions on Stability, Trim, and Longitudinal Hull Strength.” The appendix has also been updated to include the Stability Data Reference Book—August 1989 Edition, which is the same supplied in the United States Coast Guard license examination room.

Size: 6.0in x 9.0in | Pages: 528 | 177 illustrations, 28 b/w photos

Binding: Hardback

ISBN: 9780870335648

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0090/5072/products/stability-trim-for-the-ship-s-officer-4th-edition-30351031894180.jpg?v=1628801381
tankerman-revised-ed-g
Tankerman - Revised Ed. "H" (BK-106)

Tankerman -- All Grades. Repair: Gray Areas, 2nd edition Clarifies "gray areas" in container inspection and repair that have remained open to interpretation and thus the source of disputes. Such areas include conditions where it is unclear whether repair is required or not; wear and tear vs. damage; improper repairs; and others. Color photos illustrate conditions such as improper panel straightening, floor delamination and rolling shear failure.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0090/5072/products/iicl-supplement-on-inspection-repair-gray-areas-2nd-edition-14249412919396.jpg?v=1628567928
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0090/5072/products/merchant-marine-engineers-examination-illustration-book-bk-679-14249405775972.jpg?v=1628568089
tide-tables-and-tidal-current-tables-reprints
Merchant Marine Deck Examination Reference Material: 1983 Reprints of the Tide Tables & Tidal Current Tables (BK-0276-1)

Tide Tables and Tidal Current Tables Reprints - Merchant Marine Examination Reference Book USCG. 1983. 278 Pages.
