The Work of the Nautical Surveyor
The Nautical Institute on the Work of the Nautical Surveyor is written by a group of surveyors and covers in eight chapters in Part I the role of the government nautical surveyor, control of ships safety, antipollution standards, USA transportation safety board, marine accident investigation, human factor in accidents, port state control and the Memorandum of Understanding, port health and responsibilities for people and cargoes.
In Part II the role of marine survey companies as nautical surveyors, witnesses, assessors, cargo surveyors, average adjusters etc. is covered.
Part III informs on safety and inspection, classification societies, chapters on oil, chemical and gas tankers, hatch covers, anchor handling and similar seamanship objects.
The fourth and last part deals with measurement and control for many sorts of survey.
