Egyptian Navy Hydrographic Department Suez Canal Charts

Since the opening of the new Suez Canal on August 6th 2015, the Egyptian Navy Hydrographic Department in conjunction with the Suez Canal Authority have produced two new Suez Canal Charts SC1 and SC2. Starting on August 6th 2015 these nautical charts are required to be on board a vessel seeking to transit the Suez Canal. No vessel will be permitted entrance to the canal without these charts. Ship owners and administrations will be responsible for ensuring vessels have these charts on board before transiting the Suez Canal. All vessels must register their charts upon receiving them and before transiting the Canal. Authorities will track each chart in their database to ensure the vessel is carrying official, registered charts.
